1. FLOW MESSURING INSTRUMENTS.

  • Flow measurement is an action to measure the flow of liquids, gases and vapors using a flow measurement instrument or device, which measures the rate of flow or the quantity of flow

These are common flow measuring instrument

1) Orifice Plate
2) Variable Aria Flow Meter
3) Magnetic Flow Meter
4) Turbine Flow Meter
5) Positive Displacement Meter

2. TEMPERATURE MEASURING INSTRUMENTS.

Temperature measuring device means a thermometer, thermocouple, thermistor, or other device that indicates the temperature of food, air, or water.

These are common Temperature measuring instrument

1) Thermocouples
2) Resistance Temperature Detactor
3) Filled System
4) Bimetallic Thermometres
5) Thermowells

3. LEVEL MEASURING INSTRUMENTS

Level Sensors are level indicators that simply measure the level of liquid or solid in your process. These level measurements can be sent to a central computer for historic tracking, and used in process automation and control.

These are common Level measuring instrument

1) Level Guage (Direct Type)
2) Hydrostatic Head (Inferential)
3) Buoyancy
4) Conductance
5) Capacitance
6) Radiation
7) Float

4. PRESSURE MESSURING INSTRUMENTS.
Instruments used to measure and display pressure in an integral unit are called pressure meters or pressure gauges or vacuum gauges.
These are common Level measuring instrument
1) Manometer
2) Bourden Type
3) Bellow Type
4) Diaphragm Type

5. TYPES OF PIPE ENDS

A long tube or hollow body for carrying a substance (as water, steam, or gas) the exhaust pipe of a car underground water pipes.
These are the common pipe ends

  • Pbe       -     Plain Both End
  • Ple        -     Plain Large End
  • Pse.      -      Plain Small End
  • Ble       -     Bevelled Large End
  • Tse       -    Threaded Small End

6. SPECIAL ITEMS

  •  Steam Trap (Float Type, Thermodynamic,Bucket)
  • Orifice Flange
  •  Flow Elements
  • Strainer (Y Type Strainer, Bucket Type Strainer)

7. TYPES OF GASKETS

Piping Gasket is sealing material placed between connecting flanges to create a static seal. This will maintain the leakage proof sealing in all operating conditions.

Different types of gaskets are used to achieve the leak proof sealing between the pipe flange.

1) Full Face
2) Inside Bolt Circle
3) Spiral Wound Metallic
4) Ring Type
5) Metal Jacketed.

8. SERVICE CODE FOR UTILITY LINES.

All oil refineries and other petroleum processing facilities need utilities in order to function. The common utility systems include steam, fuel, various waters, air, electrical power, and sewers, among others.

Non-process piping associated with a process unit (e.g. steam, air, water, nitrogen, etc.).

 1) Lps    -     Low Pressure Steam

2) Hps    -     High Pressure Steam

3) Mps    -    Medium Pressure Steam

4) Cws     -    Cooling Water Supply

5) Cwr     -    Cooling Water Return

6) Ches    -    Chilled Water Supply

7) Chwr    -   Chilled Water Return

8) Bs         -   Brine Supply

9) Br        -     Brine Return

10) Ia      -     Instrument Air

11) Ca    -     Compress Air

12) Dmw -   Potable Water

13) Ps    -      Process Water

9. SERVICE CODE FOR PROCESS LINE.

  • Process piping can consist of interconnected piping systems such as tubing, pipes, pressure hoses, valves, separators, traps, flanges, fittings, gaskets, strainers and other components.
  •  These piping components can be placed together to move, mix, separate, stop, distribute or control the flow of fluids.
  • Process line means a group of equipment assembled that can operate independently if supplied with sufficient raw materials to produce polypropylene, high-density polyethylene, or polystyrene.

These are Service code Example for precess line.
